Several years ago I learned that even with the proper fire protection, things can go wrong. I had an electrical fire happen in my house due to a faulty electrical cord, and it damaged all my bedroom furniture and also ruined a number of personal items that I’ll never be able to replace. Ever since this incident happened, I’ve been extremely conscious of fire safety. Now I make sure to always have a working smoke detector in every room of my house, which means replacing the batteries in all of the smoke detectors in my home every few months, and I also have two fire extinguishers placed in strategic locations in my home – one upstairs, and one downstairs. I also bought a couple of carbon monoxide detectors, just to be on the safe side. Making your home a safe place to live is such an important thing to do, and do properly.
